Happy Halloween!  Not too many tricks around here, but there are plenty of treats!

I made ghost s'mores (found via pinterest) for Big Brother's Halloween party.  Their charm may be lost on 4 year olds, but they are still so, so cute.

And for a few friends, I finally tried making cupcakes in a jar.  I don't know what took me so long or what I was afraid of.  They turned out so nicely and were not any harder than frosting cupcakes in liners.  I'll definitely be making them again.

I hope everyone had a super day.  We certainly did...and now I must take care of my motherly Halloween duty and sneak some of the boys' candy!

Happy Sunday

Guess what we did today.

Trick or treat?

With a little trick.

Yep, an Oreo inside a chocolate chip cookie.  I was the coolest mom ever when I gave them to my boys.

Mom!  Two cookies!  At the same time!  Wow!!

A little last minute Halloweening

The grocery store had little pumpkins on clearance for 50 cents the other day.  Perfect for a little last minute Halloween crafting on a rainy afternoon.

Zero points for creativity

Okay, it's not innovative or original.

Chalkboard paint.  Kitchen wall.  We've seen it a million times before.

But I'm in love just the same.

Happy Sunday

Little nibbled crusts found after a rushed lunch.  Important Lego building was calling.

Why can't I just freeze time?

Happy Sunday

And just like that, here we are again.  Another week gone by.

Fall's fun is in full swing here.  Halloween costumes, the pumpkin patch, raking the handful of leaves that have already fallen.  The whole nine yards.

It's such a wonderful time of year.

And I hope you're enjoying your long weekend as much as we have!

Halloween wind catchers

Remember when we made these?  We took a Halloween spin on it and made Jack 'o Lantern wind catchers.

This picture is a perfect representation of 2 year old boys everywhere:

Constant frantic motion.

Same process as the rainbow ones, just with materials of the orange and black variety.

That time of year

Well, the realization hit me the other day that, beautiful 75 degree days or not, fall's a-coming and my little patch of veggies and herbs are going to be kaput very soon.

So I spent naptime making perfectly portioned pesto to freeze.  Same recipe as last year, from Williams Sonoma.  Can't beat it.

Happy Sunday

How on Earth did you get here so fast?  Wasn't it just August?

I'm so not ready for this.

What is it about this time of year that moves so fast?  Another blink and Halloween will be here.  Two blinks and I'll be knee deep in Thanksgiving.  Turn around and it'll be Christmas.  Yikes.

But ready or not, pumpkins, sweaters, and mums are here.  And it sure is pretty.
