Yesterday we took a break from the sun and water and spent the afternoon in the kitchen. It was a lovely (and welcome) change of pace.
I was long overdue to cut back my leggy basil plant, so armed with a basketful of homegrown basil and parsley, we made my favorite pesto.
It's definitely one of my fresh from the garden, summery favorites.
For dessert, we made oatmeal raisin cookies.
I double the raisins, though. Sorry, Martha.
Tell me you buy things just for the containers, too. :)
Now I am just (im)patiently waiting for these to ripen a little. Apricot jam and this awesome bread up next!
