It must be spring...

since I'm out in the yard spray painting.

My victim, I mean project: a galvanized bucket formerly known as a drink tub at parties. Too bad it was only big enough to hold drinks sized for a Smurf. It'll be better as a planter.

And clearly my hand needed a coat, too. Total abuse of spray paint.

And now...a pot for my strawberry plant. If I ever do plant my vegetable bed, this will go in. I love bright colors breaking up the overwhelming green of the veggies. (Yes, I realize a strawberry isn't a vegetable, but close enough)

Ahhh, the first crops of the season.

So now what should I do with my bounty? Strawberry shortcake, strawberry sundaes, fruit salads, smoothies...open a fruit stand on the side of the road? The possibilities are endless!

And remember, if you make a planter out of a bucket like this, drill holes in the bottom for drainage!

What is the world coming to when they bring smurfs back for our children?? I laughed so hard... I sure loved those three-apple-high blue people. Memories...
