And my BFF is full of good ideas. In fact, all the good ideas and bee-you-tee-ful things I come across while I'm reading magazines and browsing catalogs. (Don't you just LOVE the red Pottery Barn table there in the middle?? Well, I do.)

This way, when I'm out, I can remind myself of all the pretty things I MUST HAVE (kindly ignore the fact that I leave the house without my grocery list 9 times out of 10--priorities, people!!) and if I'm wondering what I could do with a great find that I'm not sure if I could use or not, I just flip through all my pretty pictures.

It also helps when I'm rearranging our house, because then I have some inspiration to work from.
This one from The Land of Nod is one of my faves. One day, it'll be the Little Guys' room. But that is a long, long, long, long way away, since they are going to be my babies forever. Right???

I like that you carry it around with you...does it help keep you from impulsive purchases on other things?
ReplyDeleteMost of the time, yes. It gives me an idea of what I "need" to complete some look or project in a central place. The visual aspect makes it easier for me than a plain old list or trying to remember in my head (it's crowded enough in there anyway).
ReplyDeleteOf course, I'm still a sucker for super cute stuff or good deals...I buy those things first and rationalize later!
I do the same thing! I keep so many files of stuff it is ridiculous. Mostly for decorating ideas. My hubby gets mad because I keeps all the Pottery Barn, Land of Nod, Chasing Fireflies etc....and they junk up the kitchen and living room with magazine piles. I have a hard time letting go....
